Mechanical Engineering Technician – Fire apparatus manufacturing

Job summary

Work closely with the Technical Director and the Production Director to develop expertise in design and production implementation..

Main responsibilities

Design and model the various components of a fire truck: body, plumbing, control panel, pump compartment, water tank, and various accessories, based on the specifications.
Prepare detailed and assembly drawings for production.
Design and draw 12-volt electrical circuits.
Program electrical systems and their components.
Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues and contact suppliers when required.
Prepare production orders, work cards, and bills of materials according to the specifications and project manager’s instructions.
Order certain components from local suppliers.

Requirements and Competencies

Diploma of College Studies in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to use 3D modeling software, preferably SolidWorks.
Written and spoken English skills.
2 years of experience preferred.
